Flashback Friday-Amanda and Wasef’s Wedding-July 10, 2010

This week we have decided to showcase Amanda and Wasef’s July 2010 Wedding Reception at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel for our Flashback Friday. For this occasion, we were lucky enough to work with the Groom’s parents, Beth Ann and Salem, who had a vision that they shared with us for the Bride and Groom. Using their ideas, we designed a reception that had a very serene and etherial feeling.

Beth Ann and Salem had envisioned turquoise to be the dominant color in the room. Keeping that in mind we used a beautiful satin turquoise tablecloth with a sheer gold scroll overlay to give some added dimension. The tables featured gold manzanita trees with intertwined orchid and crystal garlands and hanging candles with a cloud of rose petals at the base. We also custom-made turquoise satin pillowcase chair covers featuring a single fully opened rose stem placed in each chair back.

For the Amanda and Wasef’s Head Table, we transformed our acrylic mandap into a archway, filled with billowing curly willow branches adorned with orchids. Delicate orchid and crystal garlands hung from the top of the archway. Golden manzanita branches with fresh fuchsia and orange rose clusters served as the centerpiece of the Head Table.

The custom lighting package, consisting of rotating blue, turquoise, fuchsia, purple and amber uplights , helped transform the room and the couple’s personalized monogram displayed on the drapery, and pinspot lighting helped to give the room a playful and romantic ambiance.
