This wedding celebration raises the wedding bar as over 30,000 square feet of ballroom space are decorated to perfection with complete and utter elegance. This lovely couple shared this blissful moment in time with 700 guests and endless enjoyment together.

Overlooking this spacious area hangs a colossal 450-pound custom crafted chandelier, specially made for this marriage event, that glittered and shined, dazzling all who laid their unexpecting eyes upon its beauty. A 6-foot tiered rich lavender floral decoration wedding cake left guests awe-struck as they entered the hall. They were kept in a state of impressed astonishment when their eyes locked on a custom made ice sculpture engraved with the lovely couple’s initials coupled by an overhead projection of the same design upon the dance floor. Nestled on center stage, the couple’s pristine seating area overlooked the vast space and gave a perfect view of their cheerful guests settled at tables lain with plum shimmer linens paired with rich gold chiavari chairs and satin napkins.

Occasions by Shangri-la Lotus Mandap Atlanta Weddings

Underneath the sizzling Atlanta sun, a deep love bloomed into full effect as this striking couple, Nikisha and Priyesh, exchanged vows to become united as one. This love struck duo exchanged vow enclosed in an extravagant custom created lotus design floral arrangement that held a dazzling crystal chandelier, set at BAPS Shri Swaminaryan Mandir Temple. This custom architectural piece included a white camouflaged stage overhanging the middle of the temple’s reflection pond for the bridal party to stand atop and gave the appearance of them all standing upon water.

The newlywed couple and their gathering of 400 guests continued celebration into the next day at Westin Buckhead Hilton with décor doubly as impressive as the day prior. The reception hall which housed this festive reception held an ornate gold chandelier which was utilized as the main focus for design. At each guest table was placed a showcase of two unique and beautiful floral centerpiece selections with the first being a collection of peach, light green and pink floral, and the second a similar assortment only with a more elongated and low appearance. A river of candles was featured atop each table with its glow illuminating into the room to further add upon the already present ambience. Decorated with a precise blend of modest exquisiteness and exaggerated detailing, this wedding event is one for the books.

Flashback Friday-Nisha and Mainak-July 31, 2010

For today’s Flashback Friday we are going back to Nisha and Mainak’s July 2010 Wedding at the Lake Mary Marriott. From the moment that Nisha and Mainak began planning they knew that they wanted to be very different and unique. They wanted to make the mandap very different from a typical mandap and this was especially true because their good friend, Bella Patel, used the same mandap for her wedding the prior February.

For the Wedding Ceremony, we went for a very romantic feel, draping the roof of the mandap with gold satin fabric, handing crystals and candles with gorgeous arrangements of fresh floral consisting of orchids, lilies, roses, hydrangeas and gerbera daisies. The aisle featured various height vases with submersed orchids and rose petals. White spandex chair covers and gold chair ties from Got You Covered Linens.

Since Nisha and Mainak loved the mandap so much they decided to reuse it for the Reception. We transformed the look of the mandap with a lighting package that made the mandap glow with a beautiful magenta color. The paisley wall design, also included in the lighting package, added extra dimension to the room.  The stunning estate tables consisted of lon, rectangular vases with crystals and floating candles and tall concave vases, lit from below, with a burst of fresh floral blue orchids and curly willow. The round guest tables had the same concave vases with asubmersed orchid and floating candle. The gold chargers helped to pull the look together.

Congratulations Carolyn and Chris! February 5, 2011

We are so happy to be able to share the Reception of Carolyn and Chris who were married at the Hilton Orlando on February 5th, 2011. As always, we want to give a huge thank you to the amazing Damon Tucci and Rosy of Damon Tucci Photography for their beautiful work!

We designed the room with blues and silvers to give a very classy and clean look using the silver scroll overlay from Got You Covered Linen and centerpieces consisting of both submersed orchids and tall vases with bursts of fresh floral and curly willow. We used a changing lighting package to give the room an extra pop of color with her orchid centerpieces.

Congratulations Geetha and Harry!

Congratulations to Geetha and Harry who got married this weekend this weekend at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota, Florida and the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay in Tampa, Florida. We were honored to be a part of their wedding and look forward to sharing more photos with you in the upcoming days!

Flashback Friday- Aditi Vora’s Wedding- June 2008

For today’s Friday Flashback we are featuring Aditi’s June 2008 wedding at the Harriet Himmel Theater at CityPlace and the Comfort Inn and Conference Center, both in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Aditi, being a florist, had a very clear idea of what she wanted for her wedding. She envisioned a very tropical and serene feel and therefore we went in a direction that would clearly show that off. This was the first time that we were able to showcase our Tropical Bamboo Mandap which was custom created for Aditi as well as the custom aisle pieces. Bright, tropical floral adorned the mandap and aisle, featuring ginger, lilies and orchids and crystal and orchid garlands hung from across the top of the mandap. To complete the vision we also placed our water wall behind the mandap which tied the entire ceremony together. The water wall was then moved to the reception where the couple’s monogram was added.

Aditi loved the color peach and wanted to make sure it was prominent at the reception. She traveled to India to have her fabulous sheer peach tablecloths and chair ties custom made. The centerpieces consisted of a submersed orchid with a fresh floral centerpiece of roses and hydrangeas on top which pulled the room together.

On a side note, we also wanted to mention the Baarat. Aditi got permission from the City of West Palm Beach to actually close the streets down so that everyone could have a clear path and enjoy the festivities. We just wanted to share a few photos of everyone’s happiness as well!

A special thank you to Seema and Naz at Zamana Lifestyle Photography and Video for capturing the images.

Flashback Friday-Ajay and Seema’s Engagement Party

Today we are spotlighting Ajay and Seema’s Engagement Party from October 2008 at the Hilton at Walt Disney World.

Ajay and Seema had wanted a very cool and sleek feel to their Engagement Party so we decided to go with a true South Beach look. A crisp white and aqua blue was the color scheme tied through the entire event.

Ajay had wanted the event to be a bit different from most. Upon arrival, all guests were treated as VIP’s, walking into the event down a red carpet and receiving a special VIP lanyard that was used to denote their seat assignment. Both the backdrop and the customized logo were designed by Ajay’s Brother-In-Law, Rupesh, AKA DJ Rup.  We wanted to incorporate the entire event, including the cocktail hour and dinner, into the same Ballroom yet wanted to still make them seperate events. The guests walked in to the first 1/3 of the Ballroom, which was sectioned off by floor to ceiling white boile drapery and featured  three lounge areas with with South Beach Style Cabanas and an extensive variety of hors d’ oeuvres. Once the cocktail hour wrapped, the drapery was opened and guests were allowed to enter the entire Ballroom. Seating in the Ballroom consisted of Round and Estate Tables with white table cloths, napkins and chair covers with aqua blue sashes. The centerpieces featured submersed orchids with the water dyed the same aqua blue as the chair sashes. The lighting package tied the room together with blue uplights.

Thank you to DJ Kumar with POHP for providing the Lighting and Sound, Lounge Furniture from Lindsay Cosimi at Room Service Rentals and a collaborative effort between John Faulkner and Seema at Zamana Photo for the beautiful images.

Flashback Friday-Rachna and Ankur’s Wedding-October 23, 2010

Occasions by Shangri-La was lucky enough to work with Rachna and Ankur for their wedding in Augusta, Georgia on October 23, 2010. The bride had wanted to have her ceremony outdoors and chose a very unique location. For the first time ever, the Riverwalk Amphitheater was used for a ceremony of this size. The Riverwalk Amphitheater was an amazing and fun space to work with however, it posed some logistical challenges. The Amphitheater is run by the City of Augusta which requires certain permits for larger events to be obtained as well as they had to allow the private use of the space. The venue also required power drops for all sound to be amplified. All of our decor for the ceremony had to be brought in by large trucks, transfered to smaller trucks and then staged during the early morning hours of the event set-up, which began at 3:00AM. Never stepping down from a challenge, Remmal and Smita took it on and produced a beautiful event that all of the friends and family members raved about.

When it came time for the reception, the festivites commenced at the Augusta Marriott Hotel on the banks of the Savannah River. Rachna, for her reception, tied in the vibrant pinks, oranges and purples from her cermony to give the room a festive feel. We used light-capturing plum and orange crushed tablecloths, pintuck napkins and gold spandex chair covers and bands by Got You Covered Linens and accented the guest tables with manzanita trees, candles, rose petals and bright fresh floral carnation balls with hundreds of fresh blooms in the room.

A special thank you to Seema and Naz at Zamana Lifestyle Photography and Video for capturing the images.
