Flashback Friday-Cruise Wedding

Fridays are a day to look forward to the weekend but we have decided on Fridays we are going to take a look back at our favorite events. The ones that were fun, fabulous or maybe even challenging. We truly hope by seeing the images and hearing our couple’s stories you will be inspired with some amazing ideas of your own.

Today we are flashing back to May 17, 2009 to Anand and Sapna’s Wedding. When you sit down and think about your wedding day have you ever thought about having your wedding on a Cruise Ship? Not taking a cruise to an exotic island or around the Mediterranean but actually ON a Cruise Ship? Is a wedding on a Cruise Ship for 400 of your closest friends and family even possible? It IS possible…they dreamed of it and we made it come to life!

Deciding to have your wedding in a non-traditional location, like a Cruise Ship, is a great way to bring everyone together and give them a vacation as well; however meticulous planning has to be done. You need to be on top of every detail for your wedding because timing to get all decor items on the ship may be different than a traditional venue, you also have to work with the Cruise Ship’s Staff to make sure the correct set up times are met and most importantly, making sure all of your items clear customs and get on the Ship. It is important that no little detail gets left behind.

Anand and Sapna didn’t just plan the Wedding Ceremony and Reception; they also had a Mendhi for about 150 guests, Pithi and Ganepat for 120 and Garba for 400. All in all this wedding went extremely smooth (other than a famous “Boy Band” taking over the original ship the couple planned to get married on.)  A huge thank you to the Staff of the Carnival Destiny for helping to make this event flawless and for being on top of every request made of them, as well as to Regeti’s Photography for capturing the images. I hope the pictures below that showcase Anand and Sapna’s beautiful day help you to think of new and creative ideas for your special day!
